Minimal, nature inspired embroidery by Adam Pritchett

When I started Bleaq almost four years ago I never thought I’d feature embroidery. Now, four years and many artists later, I’ve started wondering if I should make an embroidery sub category… From the occult works of Adipocere to the anatomical pieces by Juana Gómez, there’s something magical about illustrating with thread. My latest embroidery-crush is Adam Pritchett, a textile artist and sewing enthousiast from the UK’s Lake District.

Adam’s work is mainly influenced by nature, exploring everything from deadly plants to spiders, cats and the changing of the seasons. Next to nature there’s also a magical element to be found in Adam’s work: forest spirits, wands and elements of witchery. Adam carefully layers his thread and uses tiny beads to create a 3-dimensional aspect to his work, something which gives these pieces depth and make them even more special.

You can find more of Adam’s work on his website, Facebook page and Instagram. You can buy original pieces in his Etsy shop, The Old Needle. Enjoy!
