Art nouveau inspired, feminine illustrations by Eevien Tan

Art nouveau is one of my favorite classic art movements. Alphone Mucha for instance: the delicacy of ornaments surrounding the strong feminine characters he creates get to me every time I come accross one of his works. Fortunately I’m not the only one in love with Art Nouveau – many contemporary artists get inspired by the movement. The illustrations of today’s featured artist, Melbourne based illustrator and designer Eevien Tan, are an example of a modern homage to the classic Art Nouveau movement. Lavish beauties with gorgeous floating hair, flower filled ornaments and delicate, symmetrical borders surrounding the pieces: the classic Art Nouveau elements are all there. By coloring the pieces digitally Eevien knows to transform her work into something modern, and if you ask me – absolutely stunning. If you like Eevien’s style make sure to check out her website, her graphic design skills are also worth a look. Enjoy!
