Mysterious and symbolic illustrations by Caitlin McCarthy

Have you seen ‘True Detective’ yet? The HBO series with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson has been a favorite of mine since the first episode, and I can’t wait for a second season. After binge-watching season one I was eager for more and started looking for artwork inspired by the show. One of the pieces I came across was a wonderful drawing by California based artist Caitlin McCarthy. Her ‘True Detective’ inspired drawing is a perfect example of the work in her portfolio: light and feminine, yet filled with occult references and symbolism to give it a mysterious and dark atmosphere. Enjoy!
