Caitlin Karolczak is an artist working in bot Minneapolis and New York who specialized in age-old paintings combined with provocative contemporary themes. It’s almost odd to look at these works knowing they’re made in the 21st century, Caitlin’s technique and color palette have a lot in common with 17th and 18th century portraits. I like the obtrusive looks the Caitlin’s portraits give you, although some paintings make me feel a bit uncomfortable I’m intrigued by the mystery these portraits and people breathe. Enjoy!
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed Caitlin’s work: it’s this years last artist feature! Next Wednesday I’ll be looking back at 2014, and next Friday Bleaq will be back with a fresh artist feature. Have a lovely New Year’s Eve!
