Illinois based artist Aunia Kahn describes her work as hybrids: she mixes techniques like photography, digital painting and collage with classical art to create edgy portraits. I love the women portrayed in Aunia’s pieces: strong, gorgeous and always looking sharp. Aunia uses bold colours and contrast which must make these pieces even more exciting in a larger format. For now you’ll have to do with a smaller format though, which fortunately doesn’t make them look less vibrant. Enjoy!
Thanks for reading! If you happen to live in Saint Louis, MO be sure to check out Alexi Era Gallery, an art gallery Aunia started together with author Russell J. Moon. The gallery exhibited many great artists, it’s a shame I live so far away! If you like to take a look at Aunia’s work behind the scenes make sure to check out the new blog on her website. It’s quite new yet you can already find some lovely posts over there. What do you think of Aunia’s work?
