One of the first art magazines I ever bought was Coilhouse, who released their first issue back in August 2008. Coilhouse manifested as both a blog and print magazine, and perfectly describes itself as ‘a love letter to alternative culture’. I discovered some great artists thanks to Coilhouse (featured artist Jessica Joslin for instance) and still browse trough my print issues every now and then. Sadly Coilhouse dimmed the light last november, and the blog (and magazine) has been on hiatus ever since. Fortunately the website is still online so you can browse through years of inspiring articles and imagery. And to make it even better: the six issues can be downloaded from the website for free! I really recommend browsing through these digital copies, besides the lovely content every page is beautifully designed. A sneak peek below, enjoy!
