Abandoned buildings photographed by Dan Raven

In this week filled with articles looking back at 2013 I thought it would be nice to leave the year with a glimpse in the past as well. I’ve already featured a Bleaq recap of 2013 so it had to be something else. You’ve read the Bleaq 2013 recap already, so it had to be something else. I decided it would be nice to feature work of an urbex photographer, a photographer who takes pictures in abandoned buildings. English photographer Dan Raven has visited great amounts of beautiful buildings who over time turned into sad, decaying places still filled with the spirit and beauty from times long gone. I’m not a fan of his earlier HDR work (unfortunately there’s a lot of Urbex HDR out there, just take a look at this Flickr group) but been enjoying his work since he toned down the HDR a bit. Enjoy!

  • His work is really brilliant. I wish I had the same opportunities to take these photos but there is often a lot of redtape involved in having the authority to go on site to these places. He captures the space of the room and stillness so well.
