Yuri Shwedoff is a young artist from Moscow, Russia, who recently graduated from the Moscow State Academic University in Surikov. Yuri’s digital paintings are pieces you won’t easily forget: they show a cold, dystopian future that both frightens and captivates.
The traces of life found throughout the pieces suggest a post apocalyptic setting, yet the frequent use of astronaut gear and space rockets could also imply the situations are captured on another planet. Whether these scenes are from our world or another, it’s certain that this dystopian future looks dreary and bleak. The solitude Yuri captures in his work is phenomenal: every illustration he creates is a book or movie I’d like to read or see.
You can find more of Yuri’s work on his website, Facebook page, Behance and Instagram. If you like to see how Yuri work check out this website where you can buy process tutorials of Yuri creating his stunning illustrations. Enjoy!
