Maren Klemp is a photographer living and working in Oslo, Norway. After studying photography at the art academy in Oslo Maren started exploring photography as an art-form. Today Maren mostly works in black and white, and likes to make portraits of herself or her children to keep her work as honest and true as possible.
Next to creative expression Maren’s goal is to raise awareness of mental health through her work. By exploring the darker side of human personalities she likes to visually represent conditions associated with mental illness. Maren on her work:
“They tell about the lack of belonging, to live in a separate world that few or no others can enter or understand. It’s about the fog that comes creeping , which overpowers and paralyzes, the invisible disease.”
