Kalian Lo is a photographer from Toulouse, France, currently living and working is Germany. After completing her studies in photography Kalian travelled all over the world to capture the beauty and fleeting intensity of the moment. During her travels Kalian discovered urban exploration, the art of exploring abandoned buildings. The urban exploration motto, ‘Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints’ left Kalian with an impressive portfolio of images taken in the most gorgeous places forgotten by the rest of the world. Kalian doesn’t limit herself to one camera, varying from shooting with Lomography cameras like the Holga but also Polaroid, regular film and digital. Her recent series, shot on polaroid film in an abandoned home in Ireland, is hauntingly beautiful and captures the true beauty of decay.
