Some people are born to become artists. American painter Dorian Vallejo is one of those people. Dorian started creating art when he was little, encouraged by his creative family. He sold his first commission at the age of 11 and attended the School of Visual Arts in New York when he grew older. Fascinated by many techniques Dorian explored all forms of art, now creating mostly paintings and drawings.
The paintings you’re about to see are magnificent: floating figures in beautiful, natural dream worlds. With his work Dorian tries to show his philosophical idea of heroism, and display the duality of our existence. I enjoy the surreal vibe in his paintings, the ease his floating models portray. On his website Dorian states: “My work is my ‘Yes’ to life”, and I feel like this positive message is one that definitely oozes from these wonderful works.
