Alina Noir is a photographer from Romania, who currently shares her time between Lyon and Berlin. Alina studies history and literature, two influences that are clearly traceable in her photographic work. Whilst exploring classical themes and narratives Alina creates interesting compositions with models and their surroundings.
Alina’s work makes me think of that of Czech photographer Jan Saudek, both in her technique of working with (lack of) color and her use of compositions. Whilst Saudek’s work shows a more raw side of humanity the focus in Alina’s pieces is more on movement and grace: she often portrays dancers in intricate poses and moves.
