I often find it an insult to the artist if I see a piece of art and think: “Wow, that frame is stunning!” Fortunately with Seattle based Redd Walitzki’s work it’s okay to think that, as a matter of fact the frames are an important part of her work. Redd uses intricate laser cut wood canvases and fills them with glamorous portraits of sensual woman and natural elements like flowers, animals and insects. The resulting pieces are gorgeous: they’re very feminine and colorful yet always with an edge. Enjoy!
Thank you for reading! What do you think of Redd’s work?
Fabulous work Redd!
Thank you Roger! Glad you enjoyed them :)
Beautiful! I wonder if she paints them first and then cut them or vice versa, either way, the art itself is gorgeous and is really enhanced by the framing!

The picture in the bio on Redd’s website shows her painting an already cut canvas, so I guess she creates the canvases first. I totally agree with you, the framing really enhances the artwork :)
