The people in Henrik Uldalen’s paintings seem to be floating in a frozen world, a world where nothing moves and all you hear is an overwhelming silence. Henrik taught himself how to paint in a classic, figurative way. Although this makes Henrik’s subjects sometimes look very realistic, photographic accuracy is never his main goal: his work is all about atmosphere. The subjects are portrayed floating in a limbo or dreamlike state, an eerie feel enhanced by the bleak colour palette. Enjoy!
